How to create a Room Layout in Flexible Mode

This article will provide teachers with the steps needed to create a flexible seating room layout.

To add seating charts for your students, you will first need to define your Room Layout. To create a Room Layout in Flexible Mode: 

  1. From the Planbook Bar, select Seating Chart > Room Layouts.
  2. Click the Add Room Layout (+) icon in top-right menu.
  3. Enter a Layout Name.
  4. Select Flexible Mode to create a flexible seating arrangement. 
  5. Select Draw to enable the drawing tools.  Choose a Shape to design your room layout or use the Draw option to create by hand (i.e. Use the shapes or drawing tool to create tables). 
  6. Draw within the box to add the shapes or to draw your tables. 
  7. Select Draw Seats to assign student spots. Seats must be drawn in order to assign students.
  8. Select Draw to enable the drawing tools.  Choose a  a Shape to add chairs or use the Draw option to create student seats by hand. 
  9. Draw within the box to add the seats for your students. 
  10. Click Save (checkmark) in the top-right to save your Room Layout
