How to Edit a School Year

This article will provide users with the information needed to edit a school year.

Please note this feature is only available to teachers for teacher-created school years. If you are a teacher using an administrator-created school year, please contact your administrator to request any changes.

To Edit a School Year:

    1. From the Planbook Bar, select School Years.
    2. Hover over the year you would like to edit.
    3. Click Edit.
    4. Edit any one of the following fields:

School Year Name - This is the name of your year that appears in the school year dropdown, typically the calendar year dates like "2026-2027."

School Year Dates - These reflect the first and last calendar dates of your school year.

Lesson Layout - This is the default Lesson Layout for your school year, which will then be applied to all classes in the year that do not have a specific Lesson Layout applied.

Schedule Type - This is the basis on which your classes will be scheduled. Planbook features three schedule types: Weekly, Biweekly, and Cycle.

Cycle Resets - This tool only appears for Cycle Schedules. This will allow you to reset your cycle to correct cycle day dates and align your school calendar.

Display Days - These are the week days that appear on your plans page. Most schools use Monday-Friday, but you can customize this to include any days you need.

Grading Periods - These are the grading periods outlined in your school year for performance reports.

Grading Scale - This is the scale used for letter grades in Planbook's Grading feature.

School Days - These are the week days where school is in session. Your classes will appear on these days.

School Times - These are the start and end times of your school day. This will impact the times of day where you are able to schedule classes.

    5. Click the checkmark in the top right corner to Save your changes.
