How to share Class Lessons via Replica

This article will provide users with the information needed to share a class with Planbook's Replica feature.

A replica class allows multiple teachers to automatically view and/or edit ALL lessons for a class. There is no need to copy or link lessons from one class to the other. The one restriction to this feature is that lessons MUST remain on the same schedule. Specifically, each lesson will be taught on the exact same date for all teachers. If you would like to have the flexibility of teaching the same lessons, but on different dates, we recommend a Copy/Link. Note: Templates and units do not replicate in the account of the mirror teacher.

Replica: Source Teacher

To set up a Replica, the source teacher (whose class created the lessons):

1. Click the User Settings icon in top-right menu.
2. Select the Sharing Options button.
3. Select Collaborate - Class Replicas in menu bar.
4. Enter a Teacher Key, and click the Save button.
5. From the Planbook Bar, select Classes.
6. Hover on the class you wish to replicate, and click the Edit button.
7. Scroll to Collaborate, and select View/Edit - Allow teachers to view AND edit my lessons.
8. Click the Save (checkmark) icon in top-right menu to save your changes.

Replica: Mirror Teacher

The replica teacher (whose class will mirror the source):

1. From the Planbook Bar, select Classes.
2. Hover on the class you wish to replicate, and click the Edit button.
3. Scroll to Collaborate and select Replica.  Once established, this will replicate the source teacher's plans into your account and collaboratively edit the class lessons.
4. If the source teacher has been added, select the Teacher, School Year, and Class to replicate.
5. If the source teacher has not been added, click Get Classes and enter Teacher Email and Teacher Key.
6. Click Show Classes, and select the School Year and Class to replicate.
7. Click the Save (checkmark) icon in top-right menu to save your changes. Note: Lesson content will be displayed according to the source teacher's lesson layout. To see lessons as they appear in the source teacher's account, we recommend revising your lesson layout and applying the revised layout to any replicated classes to match that of the source teacher's.
