This article will provide users with the information needed to connect to a school year created by their administrator.
- Manually Adding a Year: If you do not receive a popup message upon logging into your Planbook account, you will need to add a new school year to your plans manually.
- Auto-Generated Year: If the new school year is auto-generated, you will receive a pop-up notification alerting you to the new year.
Manually Connecting to an Administrator School Year
- From the Planbook Bar, select School Years.
- Click the Add Year (+) icon in top-right menu.
- Select the school year provided by your school or district, and click Continue.
- If desired, adjust the School Year Name provided by your school or district.
- If desired, adjust the School Year Dates provided by your school or district.
- Select a default Lesson Layout for the school year.
- Select the classes to copy from the current school year to the new school year.
- Click the Continue button.
- Select the information to copy from the current school year to the new school year.
- Click the Add School Year button to create the new school year.
Important! — If you have already created your own year and added content but now need to manually connect to an administrator school year, you can easily do so without losing your content. To start, make sure the year you wish to import from is marked as current on the School Years page. Next, connect to the administrator school year using the manual connection directions above and elect to import your classes and content. Once you have connected to the administrator school year, you can delete the original teacher-created school year from your account.
Connecting to an Auto-Generated Administrator School Year
- Upon logging in, you will see a pop-up stating that your admin has added a new year.
- From the Copy FROM dropdown, select the year you wish to copy.
- Choose the classes to copy from the selected year.
- Choose the information to copy from the selected classes to the new year.
- Click Continue to copy these classes and items into the new academic year.
Important! — If you have already created your own year and added content but now need to connect an auto-generated administrator school year, you can easily do so without losing your content. Connect to the administrator school year using the auto-generated directions above, with the year you wish to import from selected in the Copy FROM dropdown. Once you have connected to the administrator school year, you can delete the original teacher-created school year from your account.
